Jeff Greenfield. Blog #2

This past year in school I have realized that things are evolving a lot quicker than other people realize. I have taken a few classes which we were asked questions about media now days. I do think that all the new electronics are taking over all of the old techniques. Today, my grandparents could tell you about how they use to write letters to their loved ones. The letters showed more affection and was also the best way of communication back then. Whereas the closest we got to send letters to people was when we were little sending out birthday party invitations. We never really wrote letters unless we were really distant from someone who would want to receive a letter. But, that is the stories that our grandparents would tell us and we would be nowhere close to the same communication ways as them. Now days we are always using other things to communicate such as, texting, calling, facebook messaging, twitter and using personal e-mail.

I guess what I am trying to say is that this whole argument does matter but, then again it is just the natural step in life. Our grandparents have stories to tell us and now is our chance to develop our stories to tell to our grandkids when we are older. I bet a long time ago people would complain about others having the next big thing, but nobody noticed they were complaining; because they didn't have anything that would put it publicly to the world with the click of a button. So to sum it up; it does matter, it is just the next step in life, try to remember your values and cherish your memories.

Media Junkie

As much as I would like to say I do not use media very much just like everybody else would, I would be lying if I did that. Once you think about what all is involved in the media category, well there goes most of the things you deal with on a daily basis. I am studying to become a photographer and as you can imagine that means I deal with media every single day. Something that helps me think and get into focus is listening to music. When I listen to music I often listen to it either on my computer, iPod and occasionally my phone. Well on top of that I do check my e-mail and twitter every day.

I may spend a lot of time with media, but that is okay by me because I do not waste my time. I usually am productive with media, searching for coupons or doing something that is affiliated with school. So to truthfully answer the question, I do spend a lot of time with media, but it does not interfere with my life and instead it enhances it.
